Photographer and filmmaker documenting automotive worlds through atmosphere, movement and process

Eugene Tkachenko

Photography drew me in through the act of making images. The further I went into automotive culture, the more I understood it as a world worth documenting, with its events, people and the atmosphere that exists when a car matters to someone.

Over the years I've worked across events, brand campaigns and editorial projects. Photography and filmmaking are at the center of it, but I also contribute to projects through visual direction and story structure, helping shape how something looks and feels early in the process.

The images I keep coming back to came from time spent before or after the main event. People had stopped performing for the camera and gone back to what they were doing.

I work best when the person commissioning something has a clear sense of what they want it to feel like. That direction shapes everything from the first location scout to the final edit.

Łódź, Poland. Available for projects internationally — previous work has taken place across Europe and Japan.
